Pipes Used in Clean Water Installation

12.08.2022

The clean water installation systems, which have changed with modern technology, have experienced its development with the pipe raw material used. The pipes and fittings produced by focusing on the quality of the water, the life of the installation and the easy assembly differ according to the area of use. Galvanized and copper pipe system, which has been indispensable for the construction industry for many years, has left its place to PPR (Polypropylene) pipe installation systems with the progress in the field of thermoplastic. PPR pipes are more economical as well as being longer-lasting than galvanized pipes, whose lifetime is limited to 15 years. Another reason for choosing the PPR system is that it is easy to work with.

Things to Consider in Clean Water Installation

1. In horizontal pipes, it is necessary to give a 1% slope so that the water can be discharged in the direction of the watermeter.

2. Installation safety must be ensured by clamping.

3. The hole in the wall should be planned along the axis of the pipe. If the axis of the pipe is up to 3 inches, then this hole should be 4 cm, if 3 inches or more, then the hole should be at the level of 5-6 cm.

4. In underground pipe laying, it should be carried out to a depth of 60-80-100 cm insulation to prevent freezing.

PPR (Polypropylene) Pipe System

The use of PPR pipes has become widespread due to the rapid development in the field of plumbing and heating systems. In addition to the conveniences it provides, it is also the most reliable installation system in terms of clean water supply. The quality and reliability of PPR pipes, which have high drinking water standards, differ according to their chemical structure. In polypropylene pipes, there is no BPA substance, which continues to be discussed about its harm to human health. For this reason, it is important to prefer BPA-free PPR pipes in the supply of drinking water.

EMIRPLAST has proven its difference in the construction and plumbing industry with its wide product range and plastic pipe production that does not contain harmful BPA components.

The factors that play an important role in the preference of the polypropylene pipe system are as follows:

-Lime and rust-proof feature

-Easy and quick to install

-Ease of transportation due to its lightness

-Not affected by corrosion

-Economically-effective

-Long lifetime

PEX (Polyethylene) Pipe System

Polyethylene pipes are mostly preferred in underfloor heating systems. Polyethylene pipes, which are divided into two groups as soft and hard structures, may also differ from each other. PEX pipes are also used in hot and cold drinking water installations. Since they do not change the smell and taste of water, they can also be preferred in terms of their suitability for health. Thanks to the possibilities provided by the joining methods in polyethylene pipe installations, there is no assembly waste. Installation safety must be ensured by the correct use of fittings.

EMIRPLAST is one of the rare companies producing axial fittings as well as deattachable and non-deattachable PEX fittings in Turkey. It is a favorite brand in the construction, plumbing and heating sectors with its economical and quality alternatives.

The advantages of PEX pipes are:

-Stainless structure

-Provides a practical and easy cutting process

-No narrowing diameter

-Impact resistance

-Easy assembly by using less connection parts thanks to its flexible design

EMIRPLAST company, which quickly began the development of the production of PEX-b and PE-RT pipes, is striving to meet the consumer in this area very soon.

Steel Pipes

Steel pipes differ from other pipe types by the usage area. Its positioning in today's technology has been realized with the changing needs. Steel pipes are widely preferred in oil refineries and defense industry. The decrease in the usage rate in the construction sector and the increase in the usage rate in the petrochemical field were simultaneously. Although galvanized steel pipes are still preferred in construction and plumbing systems, it has lost its dominance in this sector with the increase in the preference of PPR pipes.

Copper Pipes

The use of copper pipes, which is preferred in surface mounted plumbing installations, is low compared to other pipe types due to its high cost. The biggest factor in its preference is its durability. It is resistant to corrosion, pressure and fire. Thanks to its oxygen and gas-proof feature, it does not produce fungi and bacteria. It is also known that it does not harm nature because it is a pure mineral.
